Imagine Missions is a group of volunteers from all walks of life with a common goal, to help people in need and to show them the love of God.
The Orphanage
Our mission in Haiti centers around a children’s orphanage called the Loyal Oaks Community Chapel Children’s Home (LOCC). The orphanage is located in the Despinos, Crois des Bouquets region, just outside Port au Prince, Haiti’s capital. The Children’s Home is co-directed by an American Missionary, Melissa Young, and a Haitian gentleman named Roselle. The orphanage employs Haitian preachers, school teachers, a primary school principal name Pascal, medical staff and support personnel. Three full-time American Missionaries are Connie and Walter Eck who support the Clinic, Community Outreach and the Transition House, and Judy Espeseth who oversees our youngest kids.
Imagine Missions is headquartered in Park Christian Church in Dennison, Ohio. Our office there receives, sorts and ships items to Haiti including food, clothing, medicine, building and household supplies.
Projects
We welcome volunteer teams who do various construction, medical and outreach projects several times each year. We have an always evolving list of needed items and orphanage enhancement projects from which a Mission Team can choose to concentrate while on-site in Haiti. The type of focus your team chooses will depend largely on the skill sets and passions of your team members. Besides construction-type projects, teams can run an on-site Vacation Bible School-type program to be held in the afternoon when the children are out of school. You can plan to preach on Sunday at church and/or lead a Sunday school class. With advance coordination with Walter Eck, VBS and preaching can be taken out into the community as Outreach to the orphanage’s neighbors.
Your contributions make it possible for Imagine Missions to help the people of Haiti and to keep our children’s home in operation. Everyone at Imagine Missions works strictly on a volunteer basis so all of the contributions we receive go toward our efforts in Haiti. There are two easy ways to contribute. :

Ways you can help:
•Come with us on a mission trip. We can always use an extra set of hands (the kids at the orphanage love nothing more than to hold someone’s hand).
•Sponsor a specific child to provide primary education and basic nutrition ($30/month) or to provide Secondary School tuition ($600/year). Contact Judy Sharpe-Kosmatka to see what children still need sponsors.
•Become a member of the Essentials Club through a two year – $20/month commitment. This donation is not tied to a specific child. Contact Judy Sharpe-Kosmatka to sign up.
•Join the shipping team.
•Prayer… For Our Missionaries, Children and Staff.

My daughter, Liz, has made two trips to Haiti to help at the orphanage. After returning home from the latest visit, she felt God's call to be part of the orphanage on a more permanant basis. She plans to spend the summer of 2014 at the orphanage helping in any way she can. Please pray for safety, health, and direction while there and when she returns home.
We are asking for the communities help donating unwanted, gently used goods for sale and new or gently used items to be taken to the orphanage. The children are in need of the basics you give your kids. . . clothes (infant to medium adult), shoes (all sizes), hygiene items.

GearHeads-Helping Single Moms & Widows with a vehicle and car repairs
People in need are getting back on the road thanks to a local group called "Gearhead Ministry."
"Our primary goal is to take donated cars and to refurbish them with what is needed and put them back in the hands of needy families," Len Searfoss said.
Every Thursday night volunteers meet at a garage in Cedar Falls. To donate a vehicle, contact Prairie Lakes Church in Cedar Falls or text/call Dr. Trunnell 319-290-6470.
"In order for someone to get a car from Gearhead Ministry to a family it needs to come through an organization such as House of Hope or from a case worker or from a church," Searfoss said.
To be eligible for a vehicle you need a valid driver's license, valid insurance and valid plates. Brenda Mosley said all of that is definitely worth this amazing gift.
Searfoss said many people are just trying to better their lives and without a mode of transportation it can be close to impossible. That's why Gearhead Ministry is happy to help.
